How to Draw a Snowman for Kids

My easy snowman drawing for kids is the simplest how to draw a snowman tutorial out there right now. Even the youngest of kids can complete this!!

During the Winter months, which can be anytime from November to early March here in the UK my kids love everything about snowmen!!

One thing they do not love though is the freezing cold, oh and the fact that Mr or Mrs Snow person melts as soon as the temperature starts rising!!

As a result I have done lots of brilliant easy snowman crafts with them. These are great because they do not melt and the kids can use them for pretend play over and over again!! They also make great decorations for your home. I absolutely love my toilet roll snowman!! He looks great on my windowsill!

You might ask why would anyone want to draw a snowman? Well as I already mentioned a snowman drawing is one that does not disappear! 

Drawing is a great creative escape for children of all ages! They can follow my winter drawing tutorial step by step or they can add their own take on it.

How to Draw a Snowman for Kids Step by Step

Please find supplies needed and my snowman drawing tutorial step by step below

Supplies:

1. Thick drawing paper. 
2. Pencil.
3. Blank paper. 
4. Scissors.
5. Crayons. 
6. Marker pens.

Snowman Drawing Template

Step 1:

Take your thick art paper and draw a large circular shape on the bottom part of the paper. 

Step 2:

Similarly, draw two more circular shape one smaller than other. 

Slightly overlap them with each other. 

Step 3:

Draw a beanie on the top circle.

Step 4:

Draw the snowman’s eyes, nose and mouth. 

Step 5:

Use the templates to cut out the head and beanie shape. Place it over the head to cover the drawing. 

Last cut out the snowman’s hands from templates. 

Step 6:

Place the cut out hands on the two sides of the middle circle. 

Use a little bit of glue stick to hold the piece for awhile, 

Then, take a light blue shaded oil pastel crayon and color the whole background. 

Step 7:

Use a piece of tissue paper to blend in the color. 

Step 8: 

Take a darker blue shade and draw some strokes on the sides. 

Step 9:

Also blend that using a clean piece of tissue paper. 

Step 10:

Uncover the face. 

Draw the scarf. 

Step 11:

Use red crayon to color the scarf, the beanie’s border and pom pom. 

Use a green color for the beanie. 

Then, use a brown color for the hands.
