Toilet Paper Roll Snowman – A Snowman that Doesn’t Melt!

Having a great winter craft for kids like this toilet paper roll snowman is important when it is too cold outside to play. We’ve always said it, bored kids are dangerous! If the weather is just a little too cold, we’ve got a solution.

Also, if you are in an area that does not get any snow, you can help your little ones make their own snowmen – without the need for snow. Why should they miss out on all the fun!

Not only are they cute, but they will not melt or make your hands stiff!

With the use of cotton balls this craft is also great as a kinaesthetic activity for younger children – the fuzzy feel of the cotton balls is great! I love sensory things for preschool age and this craft is perfect for that.

How To Make A Toilet Paper Roll Snowman

Craft Supplies:

  • paper rolls
  • cotton balls
  • construction paper (black)
  • craft foam (orange, and brown)
  • googly eyes
  • pom poms (black)
  • glue
  • scissors

Step #1:

Take a bunch of your cotton balls and pull them apart into lengths. You can also choose to ball them up into little balls – make it look like your snowman is made of snowballs.

Step #2:

Apply glue to 2/3 of your paper roll – be sure to have glue everywhere so the cotton will stick. Place all the pulled pieces of cotton balls to fill this section of the paper roll.

Step #3:

Cut out a strip of black construction paper. Roll it around the paper roll (around the spot where you have no cotton balls).

Step #4:

Cut a circle out of black construction paper, make it about an inch wider than the paper roll. Trace the paper roll on that circle and cut out the center.

Slide this part over the paper roll to make the brim of your winter craft for kids snowman hat.

Step #5:

Glue your two googly eyes onto your paper roll. Place them just below the brim of your hat.

Step #6

Cut out a carrot from orange craft foam. Glue it just below the snowman’s eyes.

Step #7

Cut out two stick arms from the brown craft foam. Glue each one on either side of your snowman.

Now that all that crafting and gluing is done, you have your very own winter craft for kids snowman that will never melt! Keep him for years to come!
