Easy Paper Lily Craft for Kids Who Love Flowers
Spring has sprung and with Summer just around the corner there is no better to dive into my large range of easy flower crafts for kids!
I have something for all ages and one of my most recent additions are these cute paper lilies which are so easy to make!
Lilies are indeed very pretty to look at and whilst my paper version will not have the desired fragrance of the real thing they are a must make in the lead up to the better weather! Bonus is that these ones last forever!
First, download the PDF templates and print them out. Cut out the petal pattern and use colorful craft papers to cut out 10 petals for each flower.
Step 2:
Fold the two sides of a petal diagonally as shown below.
Step 3:
Similarly, make 4 more petals, for a total of 5 petals.
Step 4:
Now, take the remaining five petals. Make a vertical slit in the middle of the petal.
Step 5:
Apply glue on one side of the slit and overlap with the other side to give the petal volume.
Step 6:
Similarly, make the other four petals. Gather all the petals together.
Step 7:
Take a green strip of craft paper.
Step 8:
Cut out a round piece of cardboard or cardstock paper.
Step 9:
Glue five of the flat petals around the round cardboard piece.
Step 10:
Then, glue the other five petals over the first ones around the cardboard piece.
Step 11:
Take a long strip of yellow craft paper.
Step 12:
Fold it in four, and make vertical cuts on it.
Step 13:
Roll the paper strip and glue it to secure the roll so it looks as below. This will represent the middle of the lily flower.
Step 14:
Glue the yellow paper piece inside the middle part of the flower.
Step 15:
Cut out the lily pad from green craft paper.
Step 16:
Fold it in half.
Step 17:
Make diagonal accordion folds on the lilypad.
Step 18:
Open the fold.
Step 19:
Glue the flower on the lily pad.
You can make your lilies in a variety of different colors; I just went for red and pink but as we all know this flower variety comes in a vast number of color shades!
