Making the elf's face - step 5

Let’s have some fun together making this elf craft. We’ll create tiny little elves that we will be fill to the brim with candies and treats.

Take any plain paper roll and turn it into a fun little Christmas elf. Seal the bottom and fold the top to close it once you fill him up with treats!

Don’t stop with this one! Make a variety of little elves: decorate each of them in different clothes. Great little gift for many on your list.

Materials

  • Paper roll
  • Paint (green and peach)
  • Pom Poms
  • Cotton balls
  • Googly eyes
  • Construction paper (green and peach)
  • Glue

Instructions

Step #1:

Paint a stripe of green along one edge of your paper roll - this will be our elves hat. On the opposite edge paint his jacket, we added a V-neck as our elf likes that style! The lines do not have to be perfect, as we will be adding some fluff to them.

Allow this to dry.

Step #2:

Get your peach paint (if you have no peach paint, like us, just mix together some pink and white). Paint the area in between the green - this will be our elf face.

Again, allow everything to dry.

Step #3:

While the roll is drying, take a piece of green construction paper and cut out a pair of shoes. Measure against the paper roll to make sure the back side of the shoes will fit over the bottom hole of the paper roll.

Once the paper roll is all dry, stretch out some cotton balls and glue them along all the edges of your hat and suit.

Step #7

Pick out the treats and goodies you wish to fill you elf up with - be sure they are wrapped treats so that the elf can be used as a decoration afterwards.

Add them into the paper roll now.

Step 7 - add treats to the elf

Step #8

Take a piece of peach construction paper and cut out two elf ears - make sure that have the signature elf point!

Glue these onto each side of your elf's head.

(we have also added a few finishing touches by drawing on a mouth and some detail in the ears)

Step 8 - add paper ears to the elf

Step #9:

Fold down the top of the paper roll. Make sure the folds are on each side (where the ears are) so that the hat is pointed at the front.
