The perfect Spring activity for preschool kids is this cute Butterfly handprint craft which can be made with very little materials. It is a great keepsake from nursery years.
I love simple handprint crafts for kids as they serve as great keepsakes (always remember to add the date on the back)!
Every year my kids make Mothers Day handprint cards for me at school that I file away. I will treasure these forever.
Handprint art is very simple to do with some colored paints. The butterfly handprint is actually my first attempt at an animal handprint craft. I will be doing a dinosaur handprint craft also.
I particularly love this one as it features two sets of handprints; the smaller ones can be from the child and the larger ones from an adult. Therefore it is a fabulous activity for Mum to do with her littles.
Butterflies are a great craft idea for Spring. I have lots more ways to craft butterflies for kids of all ages.
Please find my step by step craft procedure directly below. This will help you make this easy butterfly craft for kids.
The perfect Spring activity for preschool kids is this cute Butterfly handprint craft which can be made with very little materials. Step 1: Select a 2 or 3 different colored craft papers including yellow and select at least 2 different colored acrylic paints for the butterfly drawing. Prepare the selected acrylic paint. Step 2: Use a thick paint brush to apply the prepared acrylic paint on the palm of your hand. Take a piece of white cardstock paper and press the painted palm against the paper. Keep the palm on the paper for a few seconds and then remove your hand gently from the paper. Similarly, create hand-print with the other hand or an adult's hand. Use a different colored acrylic paint to create another pair of hand-prints. Allow the paint to dry. Step 5: Use scissors to cut out the hand print from the paper. Take 2 different colored hand-print cutouts of opposite hands and attach them side by side, keeping the thumbs facing outwards. Similarly, prepare the other 2 hand cutouts and attach it with the previous pair to create the wings of the butterfly. Step 8: Trace and cut out the butterfly body base and antenna patterns and the eyes from the template. The template includes 3 different sizes; you can select the size Attach the antenna cutouts on the top side of the head part and attach the eyes on the head part. Use a sharpie to draw the mouth-line of the butterfly. Attach the butterfly body base along the middle of the hand-printed wings. Attach the spot cutouts on the wings to complete the craft.
