St Patrick Day Luck Cup Craft

This St Patrick Day Luck Cup craft will bring you a little bit of the Irish luck, just be warned he is rather attached to his gold coin – so don’t try to take it!

St Patrick Day Luck Cup Craft

An Irish tradition, St Patrick’s Day is celebrated every year on March 17th. It is mean to honor the patron Saint Patrick.

There are fun traditions and stories that go with St Patricks Day.

Our little good luck cup is like a rabbits foot or a lucky coin, he brings good luck to those around him.

It is said that his gold coin helps him share his luck with those around him, so make sure not to take the coin away – then he is nothing but an Irish cup!

Feeling lucky? Well you will once these St Patrick Day crafts are all complete!

St Patricks Day Craft – Good Luck Cup

Craft Supplies:

  • Styrofoam cup (or white paper cup)
  • Green paint
  • Gold sparkle paint
  • Paintbrush
  • Construction Paper (green, yellow, white)
  • Yellow craft foam
  • Googly eyes
  • Glue
  • Scissors

Step #1:

Cut a circle out of green construction paper. Make this circle slightly bigger than the opening of your cup.

Cut a slice around the brim of the cup. This will allow you to lift the brim of your hat.

Step #2:

Paint your cup with the green paint. Set it aside to dry.

Step #3:

Make a circle out of the yellow craft foam, this will be the lucky coin. Paint it with the gold sparkle paint. Set this aside to dry.

Step #4:

Create a four leaf clover out of green construction paper. This is easy to do. On the back side of the paper, draw four circles, slightly overlapping then just add a stem and cut it out!

With yellow construction paper, cut out a buckle.

Step #5:

Cut two strips of yellow paper, about an inch wide and as long as the sheet of paper.

Crimp the paper by folding it back and forth over itself. Add two green hands, one to each.

Step #6

Add the four leaf clover you made to the bottom of the cup. You will be using the cup upside down. Glue the buckle near the opening of the cup.

Step #7

Glue your googly eyes just below the buckle.

Step #8

Get the circle you created in step one and glue it to the brim of the cup.

Make sure the slit section is centered with your eyes. Lift the brim and rest it on top of your eyes.

Step #9:

Glue your arms to the bottom of the hat. Glue the coin in one of his hands, and attach the second hand on the other side of the coin.

Feeling luckier already!

This little guy is a cup of good luck, just for you!
