Ugly Sweater Craft with Popsicle Sticks

This ugly sweater craft with popsicle sticks is perfect in the lead up to Christmas! Ugly sweaters have been popular for a few decades now!

Everyone likes to display their ugly sweater, the tackier the better. If you do not want to wear one you can design one with this easy Christmas craft for kids.

Why not do this December craft on 18th December, which is the official Ugly Sweater Day! 

This is great for stimulating kids creativity as you give them free rein to decorate their popsicle stick sweater however they wish.

Ugly Sweater Craft with Popsicle Sticks

This Ugly Sweater craft with popsicle sticks is a brilliant Christmas craft idea for kids aged 7 years and older.

Materials

  • Assorted Color Paint or Paint Pens
  • Paintbrushes
  • Regular Popsicle Sticks
  • Small Popsicle Sticks
  • Any Decor Desired: Ribbon, Pom Poms, Sequins, Glitter, String, Buttons, Etc.
  • Glitter Glue Pens
  • Hot Glue Gun & Glue

Instructions

Step 1

Evenly line up 7 regular size popsicle sticks 

Using hot glue gun, run a line of hot glue the entire length of a small popsicle stick & press it horizontally onto one end of the 7 sticks - repeat this step on the other end as well 

Step 2

Add two small sticks from the back as arms for the sweater

Step 3

Flip the newly made board over and cover with an even layer of any color paint, leaving small sections for hands and neck, let dry.

Step 4

Paint neck and hand sections any desired color, let dry 

Step 5

Use the remaining items to decorate your sweater! Have fun!
