Celebrate Fall with my cute paper origami. My Origami acorn is very easy to recreate using my step by step instructions.
Acorn Origami Fall
There are lots of things we associate with Fall including pumpkins, brown leaves, turkey and of course acorns!
Acorns are of course seeds enclosed in cups that can grow into oak trees. Little kids love to walk through the forest and collect these! If it’s too wet to go for a walk why not try and make some of my paper acorns!!
Keep reading to find my acorn origami process which can be completed in only 14 steps!
How to Make Origami Acorn Step by Step
List of Supplies:
Colored craft papers
A pair of scissors
Craft glue
Sharpies
Step by Step Instructions
Step 1:
Select a colored craft paper for the acorn and prepare a square sheet from it. 5”x5” or more of
any size will do. Keep another shade of paper for the top part of the origami acorn.
Step 2:
Fold the square paper in half, diagonally, on both sides. Unfold.
Step 3:
Hold any one of the corners and join it to the center of the square paper. If you have followed the first 3 steps correctly your paper should look as below.
Step 4:
Fold in the folded diagonal side and align it with its parallel diagonal base crease.
Step 5:
Fold in the diagonally folded side along its parallel base crease one more time.
Step 6:
Turn the current origami pattern to the other side and it should look as below.
Step 7:
Hold the right corner and make a fold. Match the inner corner of the folded part with the crease
line.
Step 8:
Similarly, fold in the left side. Your creation is now starting to look a little like a paper acorn you would find outdoors!
Step 9:
Fold out the corner of the top flap by 45 degrees to form the stem of the origami acorn.
Step 10:
Fold in the 2 closed end corners by half a cm.
Step 11:
Fold in the open corner by a cm.
Step 12:
Turn the origami pattern to the other side.
Step 13:
Trace and cut out 2 shapes to cover the stem and the top part of the origami acorn.
Step 14:
Glue the cut-outs to their parts to complete the origami acorn pattern.
What will you do with your acorn origami? You could scatter them on a table, perhaps for a Thanksgiving dinner. If not why not scatter them on your mantelpiece.
