Select colored craft papers for the peacock craft. Print and prepare the provided template
patterns.
Use pencil to trace the template patterns on the selected craft papers and use scissors to
cut them out nicely.
The template includes patterns for the head, lower body, beak, wings, tail feather base and tail feathers.
Step 2:
Glue the beak cut-out to the head cut-out and the wing cut-outs on both sides of the lower body
cut-out.
Step 3:
Glue the head to the top side and glue the leg cut-outs to the bottom side of the lower body part.
Step 4:
Take the teardrop shape cut-outs and glue the small cut-outs on the big cut-outs.
Step 5:
Take the tail feather strips and attach the teardrop patterns on them as shown in the picture of this step.
Step 6:
Carefully join both open ends of the tail feather strips and join them without making any folding
line in the middle. Prepare all the tail feather strips similarly.
Step 7:
Apply glue on the tail feather base.
Step 8:
Attach the glued ends of the tail feather on the glued base.
Step 9:
Glue the tail feathers on the base neatly and evenly. Make loops with the thin strips and glue
them between the main tail feather patterns, on the base.
Step 10:
Prepare a small piece of paper (1cm x 4cm) and make accordion folds along the longer side.
Attach it to the middle of the tail feather base.
Step 11:
Attach the peacock body pattern on the top part of the accordion folded paper, covering the tail
feather base. Allow the glue to dry.
What will you do with your finished creation? You could use it as a pretty windowsill decoration or even as a gift to a friend. Why not make lots and use them for pretend play!
