Kleenex Guitar

Most kids have attempted to use pots and pans as instruments – I know I have! Now, a drummer needs a guitar player too!

Here’s a way to create a fun little guitar for your little ones – and get the bank rockin’!

Craft Supplies:

  • Empty kleenex box
  • Paper towel roll, empty of course
  • Thumb tacks, or push pins with flat ends
  • Paint
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Elastics (about 3-4 of them)

Step #1:

Paint the kleenex box and paper towel roll brown (or whatever color you want your guitar). You can also add more decorations if you want a really flashy guitar. Set these aside to dry.

Step #2:

Once dry cut a hole in the side of the kleenex box to fit the paper towel roll. Glue the paper towel roll into place. Again, set aside until it is dry.

Step #3:

Push three thumb tacks into the top of the paper towel roll. Repeat this at the bottom of the kleenex box. Make sure each of the three line up vertically on the box and roll.

Step #4:

Wrap an elastic to each set of thumb tacks – from the paper towel roll to the kleenex box.

Jazz It Up!!

Attach a string to the guitar handle and the bottom corner of the kleenex box and you have a strap to be able to wear your guitar!

Toilet Paper Bird

Another easy kids craft made out of an empty toilet paper roll. Put these little guys outside to attract some real birds.

Craft Supplies:

  • Empty toilet paper roll
  • Construction paper (brown and orange)
  • Glue
  • Scissors
  • Feathers
  • Googly eyes

Step #1:

Wrap and glue brown construction paper around the toilet paper roll.

Step #2:

Cut out two feet from the orange construction paper. Glue these to the bottom of the toilet paper roll.

Step #3:

Cut a triangle out of the orange construction paper for the beak. Glue this in the center, closer to the top of the roll.

Step #4:

Glue the googly eyes just above the beak.

Step #5:

Add a feather to each side for its wings, and a smaller feather on the back for its tail feather.

Jazz It Up!!

Add a cute little hat or bow to make it a boy or a girl.

Finger Paint Flowers

An easy kids craft where they can have fun with their hands and paint. Time to get creative – and a little dirty!

Craft Supplies:

  • Finger paint, in a variety of colors
  • White paper, a fairly big size
  • Yellow paper
  • Their hands, of course

Step #1:

Paint a flower stem on your white paper.

Step #2:

Cover your hand in paint and create a print on the white paper. Each hand print will be a petal of your flower, so create about 5-6 hand prints in a circle – finger side facing out.

Step #3:

Cut out a circle from the yellow paper. Glue this in the center of your hand prints to complete the flower.

Jazz It Up!!

Instead of just plain paint, get some sparkly paint and make your flowers shimmer!
