Polar Bear Craft For Preschool

Our easy winter crafts for kids include this fuzzy little polar bear craft. He will have fur and all to keep him warm through the winter months!

polar bear craft

Our polar bear will turn an ordinary toilet paper roll (empty of course) into a fuzzy polar bear.

Your fur will be made from cotton balls to keep the little bear warm

For a polar bear, winter is an all year long season and they just love the cold!

This little guy will be nice and furry so it will keep him warm.

This craft is relatively easy and can be done as an activity in school during the winter. Teach the children about polar bears while they get to create their own. A great learning activity that expresses their creativity too!

I love toilet paper roll crafts for Christmas, including this toilet paper roll reindeer and toilet paper roll snowman. Why not make a bundle of them all and have them as Christmas decorations.

How To Make A Fuzzy Toilet Paper Polar Bear

Run up the bathroom and grab those empty toilet paper rolls and some cotton balls and lets get to work!

Polar Bear Craft For Preschool

Yield: 1
Prep Time: 5 minutes
Active Time: 40 minutes
Total Time: 45 minutes
Difficulty: easy

A fun polar bear craft for preschool age and upwards!

Materials

  • Empty toilet paper roll
  • White, black and pink construction paper
  • Googly eyes
  • Cotton balls (approx. 10)
  • Glue
  • Scissors

Instructions

    Step #1:

With your construction paper create the following:

1 large white circle

3 medium sized white circles

2 medium sized pink circles (slightly smaller than the medium white ones)

1 small pink circle

1 small black circle

Step #2:

Take all of the circles you just made and glue them together to make your bear's face.

Add your googly eyes once the face is in place. Set this aside for now.

Step #3:

With another piece of white paper, measure out a piece that will wrap almost completely around your toilet paper roll.

Fold it in half. Cut out a paw shape. Unfold and set it aside.

Step #4:

With more white paper, cut out a heart shaped piece.

Make sure this piece is large enough that the bottom of your toilet paper roll will fit within the bottom of the heart shape.

Step #5:

Take your cotton balls and stretch them out until they are stringy pieces.

Glue these all over your toilet paper roll, covering it completely.

Step #6

On one end of your toilet paper roll (body of the polar bear) cut two slits about an inch long.

Make sure these slits are directly across from one another. Take the polar bear head you set aside and slide it into the slits.

Step #7

Take your bear paws that you had aside and put glue in the center of it.

Make sure you do not glue on the paw areas.

Place this on the rear of the bear so the paws wrap around to the front side.

Step #8

Take the heart shape you made and glue it to the bottom of the toilet paper roll.
