Tissue Paper Snowman for Kids

Tissue paper snowman crafts for kids are a great thing to do in those winter months. There are days when it’s a little TOO cold to go outside, or there are other days when there is no snow and all your little one wants is to play with snow!

Use this adorable tissue paper snowman craft to make a snowman at the kitchen table. And, guess what!? He won’t melt!

The craft itself is fairly easy, but with the amount of work needed it is a bit more time consuming than other crafts. This one is great when you need to keep the little ones occupied for an hour or so but beware Mum needs to help out to.

In school, it can be done on those last few days before Christmas vacation, anything to stop them asking how many sleeps until Santa!

Or, you can break up the craft and have the kids work on it throughout the week on recesses that are indoor because of the weather.

There are so many different things you can use to make a snowman from toilet roll snowman to a melted snowman craft!

I have just made the most adorable 3D Snowman card – you have to do this craft before Christmas! You can see it below!

How to Make a Tissue Paper Snowman

Follow our instructions and complete one of my favorite tissue paper crafts for Christmas. In fact you can start this winter snowman paper craft as soon as there is a chill in the air!

Supplies: Tissue Paper Snowman Craft Supplies:
  • White Tissue Paper
  • Pencil
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • White Construction Paper
  • Orange Construction Paper
  • 2 Black Pom Poms
  • Googly Eyes
Step 1: Tissue Paper Snowman

Step #1:

Take the white tissue paper and cut out numerous squares.

These squares should be approximately 1 inch by 1 inch, but they do not have to be exact or all the same.

A little variety will give some texture.

Step 2: Tissue Paper Snowman

Step #2:

Cut a snowman shape out of the white paper.

If you want it to be more sturdy you can make it out of Bristol board.

We made our snowman with two parts but the usual three is okay too.

Step 3-1: Tissue Paper SnowmanStep 3-2: Tissue Paper Snowman

Step #3:

Take one square of tissue paper and wrap it around the flat end of your pencil, or in our case pencil crayon.

Put some glue on a scrap of paper.

Lightly dip the end of the pencil into the glue.

Then press this piece of tissue paper onto your snowman.

You will want to start at one edge.

Step 4-1: Tissue Paper Snowman

Step #4:

Repeat this process until your entire snowman is covered.

This is the time consuming part of the project.

Step 5-1: Tissue Paper SnowmanStep 5-2: Tissue Paper Snowman

Step #5:

Cut out an orange shaped carrot for your snowman’s nose.

Place a strip of glue on the longer end of the nose and place it in the center of your snowman’s face.

Bend the tip up slightly to give a bit of a 3D affect.

Step 6: Tissue Paper Snowman

Step #6

Glue your two googly eyes above your nose.

Step 7: Tissue Paper Snowman

Step #7

Glue your two pom pom’s on your snowman’s body.

These are his buttons.

We are all done! And, there is no worry about him melting away! Keep him all year long. I hope you know how to make a snowman out of paper.

Why not add a hat, and some arms out of construction paper. Maybe a scarf with a piece of ribbon.

He’s fuzzy, he’s cute.. great snowman crafts for kids without the wet, cold mess of snow. Or if you are in a warm climate area, you can re-create snowman, even if it never snows!

You could easily make this into a picture, like I did with my cotton ball snowman! I would stick your little guy onto some colored cardstock.

You could make it into a Christmas card and send it to your favorite school friend.
