Use our farm animal crafts for kids to create your own little piggy. This little piggy will be helping you save your money and recycle old water bottles!
Rather than going out and buying ceramic or other piggy banks to save your loose change, our version is made out of an old water bottle.
Not only will you be saving money not buying that ceramic one, you will be saving the environment too!
Even though the pigs noise comes off, most of your change will not fit through that hole - maybe a few dimes and pennies.
To ensure that no money is removed until the piggy bank is full, glue the nose closed.
On top of this great piggy bank, we can also teach you how to re-create all of Old MacDonald's farm animals.
Use these farm animal crafts for kids to save all your loose change. Once the bottle is full to the top, then break it open to see how much you saved!
5 years old & up
Paint the entire water bottle with the pink paint. Also, paint the lid as well. Set these aside to dry.
Cut a strip of pink paper, about 8 inches long and about an inch wide.
Curl it around a pencil and hold it there for about a minute. This will make sure it stays curly.
Unravel the strip and you have your curly pig tail.
Cut out four strips of pink paper. Make them about six inches long and two inches thick.
Fold each one in half and glue it in place.
Cut one edge to make it rounded. Draw your pig toes on the flat edge.
Glue your four legs onto the water bottle. Two legs on each side. Make sure the bottle is completely dry before. Add your tail to the bottom of the bottle.
Cut two ear shapes out of the pink paper. Glue these on the top side of your pig, near the top of the bottle.
With the black marker, draw two eyes on the top of the bottle, just below your ears.
Draw two lines, like the number 11, on the center of the bottle lid.
Make sure these lines will line up correctly when you twist the bottle lid onto the bottle.
To make sure of this you can always up the bottle lid on the bottle first, then draw the snout.
Cut a coin slot in the top of your pig.
Make it smaller than the hole we made if you want to make sure that no change can be taken out, once deposited!
Recycle can be fun, and a helpful way to save your money!!
