Who doesn’t love monkeys? Today we’ll show you how to make your own mini bendable monkey, all with just some pom poms and pipe cleaners. This monkey craft for kids is adorable! Check him out, climbing on our desk lamp and keeping us company when we craft!
This monkey craft is super easy to do, and you can customize it to make the monkey one of a kind.
If you use white glue it will take a bit of time for your monkey to dry, so be patient. If you are looking to make these monkeys a little quicker, you could use hot glue (with adult help).
I am guessing you will also want to make my Toilet Paper Roll Monkey to keep this little guy company.
This cute pom pom monkey is simple to make and an adorable companion for your child once it's made 😉 Pick a color for your monkeys' legs and arms (we chose a light and dark brown). Cut a pipe cleaner into four equal parts and then glue a small pom pom onto one end of each pipe cleaner. Set these aside to dry. Using the same color as the pom poms from your arms, glue together a medium sized and small sized pom pom. With a black marker, draw some nostrils and a small mouth onto the small pom pom. Pick a piece of craft foam (again we chose a very light brown color) and cut out two half moon shapes. These will be your monkey ears. Glue them to the top of your medium sized pom pom. Glue two googly eyes just above the nose (the small pom pom). Cut a larger oval out of the same craft foam. Glue this onto a large pom pom (the same color as the rest of your pom poms). Glue your monkey's head to the top of the large pom pom. Glue your pipe cleaners to the body, two will be arms and two will be legs. Cut another piece of pipe cleaner and twirl it around your finger. Glue this to the back side of your large pom pom, for your monkey tail.
