Flowers are a great gift, but it sucks when they wilt. Our pipe cleaner crafts for kids will teach you how to make an everlasting beautiful bouquet of flowers - with two simple ingredient - pipe cleaners and pom poms.
You can add as many flowers as you like to your bouquet. The color choice is yours, the types of flowers is your choice too!
Be creative! One thing is for sure, you don't have to worry about them wilting away.
Cut a green pipe cleaner in half, each pipe cleaner will make two stems - so repeat this for as many flowers as you wish to make.
Cut another green pipe cleaner in quarters (4 pieces), each pipe cleaner will make four leaves - so again, repeat this for as many flowers as you wish to make.
The smaller pieces of pipe cleaner will be the leaves. Bend each one into a leaf shape. Leave a small tip at the end to wrap around each stem.
Attach one or two leaves to each stem.
Now it's time to make our flowers. Create a loop with the pipe cleaner, then repeat this 4-5 times for each pipe clear.
When you are at the end just bend the end of the pipe cleaner around the center. You should have a four/five petal flower. You can create any type of flower that you wish and in all sorts of colors.
Repeat step three for each flower you wish to make. We made a bouquet for our pipe cleaner crafts for kids that has four flowers in it, in a variety of colors.
Grab your flower stems. Thread one into the back of each flower and bend it over to hold it in place. Repeat this step for all your flowers.
Once each has a stem you can bundle them together into a bouquet and use another piece of pipe cleaner to hold them together.
On the center of each flower you want to add a pom pom. It is simple, just glue a pom pom (of a different color) to the center of each flower.
There you have it! Your very own everlasting flower bouquet. A great gift for a teacher, family member or friend!
