Handprint Witch for Kids – How to Make a Paper Witch

With Halloween on the horizon there is no better time to learn how to make my handprint witch!! This witch handprint is super simple using my free printable template and step by step guidelines.

Witch Handprint Craft

When we think of Halloween we think of Jack O Lanterns, spooky costumes and witches!!

I have some great easy pumpkin carvings for beginners to try and a DIY witches hat if you want to dress up, but I thought it was time to do a easy witch activity for little kids, and this is where the handprint comes in!

Feel free to use little kid’s handprints for this or instead use the small ones in the template! This can be found under the instructions below!

How to Make a Witch From Handprints – Step by step witch handprint craft

Before you get started why not use my witch handprint printable template to make things easier and quicker (great if you are short of time)

Handprint Witch Template

Materials Needed

Easy Step by Step Instructions

 

Step 1:

 

Select thick colored craft papers for the handprint witch craft. You can use the handprint layout

provided with the template or you can use your own hand for this craft.

 

The template includes open handprint layouts for the hair, closed handprint layout for the body and a small handprint layout for the broom along with other patterns.

 

Trace the patterns on selected craft papers and use a pair of scissors to cut them out.

 

 

Step 2:

 

Glue the 2 open handprint cut-outs together by overlapping their thumbs.

 

 

Step 3:

 

Glue the head cut-out in the middle of the attached handprints.

 

 

Step 4:

 

Use a black sharpie to draw the eyes on the eye base cut-outs. Glue the eyes near the top part of

the head cut-out.

 

Step 5:

 

Glue the hat cut-out to the top end of the head.

 

 

Step 6:

 

Glue the head pattern to the open end of the palm of the closed handprint. Glue the small handprint to the strip cut-out to craft the broomstick.

 

 

Step 7:

 

Use a black sharpie to draw the mouth and nose of the handprint witch to complete the craft.
